Our Story

About PatBeach Heritage Corridor

Preserving the legends, history, and living culture of Patricia Beach, Manitoba.

PatBeach Heritage Corridor is a community-driven digital archive dedicated to the rich cultural, natural, and human history of Patricia Beach Provincial Park on the southeastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

This platform was built for the cottagers, campers, day-trippers, and lifelong locals who have made Patricia Beach a beloved part of their lives. Whether you grew up swimming in these waters, attended the legendary St. John's Cathedral Boys' School wilderness expeditions, or discovered this stretch of shoreline only recently — this is your home on the web.

Our archive brings together the lore of the Driftwood Dragon, the mystery of the Talisman, the history of the Métis fishing stations, and the ecological significance of the endangered Piping Plover nesting grounds. We document the stories that don't make it into textbooks — the ones whispered around campfires and passed down through generations of Beaconia families.

Beyond history, PatBeach Heritage Corridor is a living, breathing community platform. Visitors can submit their own stories and memories, track real-time ice road conditions in winter, report hardwater fishing catches, share astrophotography from the beach's famously dark skies, and follow the guided heritage walk through the park's most storied landmarks.

This platform is built and maintained by the team at b.bare, a Manitoba-based company with deep roots in the Beaconia community. We believe that preserving local heritage is an act of love — for the land, for the water, and for the people who call this shore home.

The Beaconia Code: Respect the Shore

Clothing is Optional; Respect is Not

Beaconia is a historic naturalist destination. We celebrate the freedom of the "SunBares" and all who choose to live unfiltered.

The Sanctuary at Rainbow's End

The north end of the channel is a dedicated sanctuary for our LGBT+ community. We uphold a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or exclusionary behavior.

No Non-Consensual Photography

While we encourage photos of the driftwood art and sunsets, photographing people without explicit permission is strictly prohibited and grounds for removal from the community.

Music & Harmony

If you encounter the Beach Band, listen with an open heart. Contribution is welcomed; "creepiness" is not.

Leave No Trace

Our history is written in the sand, but our future depends on the land. Pack out what you pack in.
